Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

    Messages from Family:

You should get married and have children.

  • How I responded:

Listening to my inner self and knowing that even though people that love me had good intentions, I have to be true to myself as long as my goal was not foolish or impractical. I knew that a goal worth pursuing was going to require a lot of work and commitment and I was willing to take that challenge and show myself and others that it is possible to achieve greater things in life than what your family, society, environment in which you grew seemingly "predispose" you to do.
