Advice for getting started
In the tech industry, it's always going to feel like someone else is smarter than you. The imposter syndrome doesn't really go away but it does get easier to deal with as you gain more skills and experience. Just because someone knows more than you or is more experienced doesn't mean that you can't also provide really good value.

My path in life has been direct

I've always wanted to be a software developer, a passion sparked in middle school by learning coding languages to enhance my video games.
2.
I pursued computer science in college but left after two years, feeling the formal route wasn't for me.
3.
After working various jobs, I discovered an apprenticeship program that reignited my passion for software development.
4.
I focused on learning practical skills through free online resources, including coding bootcamps and university courses.
5.
The apprenticeship gave me real-world experience working with clients and learning the intricacies of team collaboration.
6.
Despite initial self-doubt, I've embraced continuous learning and gained confidence through hands-on projects and mentor guidance.
7.
I’m now working as a junior software developer for Catalyte, an AI-enabled workforce company.
